Reebok has stepped in as the Official Footwear Partner of the WNBL, aligning our return to basketball with a league that’s driving the women’s game forward in Australia. At the heart of that partnership is the Angel Reese 1, a statement shoe built with Reese’s own input, logo and bold colour stories, including hot pink and purple executions and the “Rose Dust” launch colourway. For us, bringing Angel to Australia was about more than a product drop – it was about putting a global basketball icon shoulder‑to‑shoulder with local athletes and fans who live the game every day.

Sydney: Icebergs energy and Pitt Street takeover
Angel’s Australian debut began in Sydney, where we introduced her and the Angel Reese 1 collection at Icebergs Dining Room & Bar in Bondi alongside host Kat Sasso and key partners from across sport and culture. The event spotlighted her journey, the design of the AR1 – from her personal logo to the three launch colourways that sold out on release – and the role of visibility for women in basketball globally. From there, Angel hit Foot Locker Sydney City on Pitt Street, linking up with fans in-store to launch the AR1 “Rose Dust” with a street-level takeover that brought WNBA tunnel energy to the CBD.

Why Angel, why now
Angel Reese is a two-time WNBA All-Star and two-time WNBA rebounding leader, and she represents the new era of Reebok Basketball – confident, unapologetic and built on owning your story on and off the court. Her Australian shoe tour coincided with a pivotal moment for the women’s game here, with the WNBL actively investing in aspirational role models and using partnerships like ours to convert global interest into local participation and merchandise growth. As WNBL CEO Jennie Sager has said, putting athletes like Angel alongside league stars sends a powerful message to young hoopers about what they can achieve – a message Reebok is committed to amplifying.

What’s next for Reebok Basketball in AU/NZ
For Reebok, Angel’s Australia tour is a starting point, not a one-off. With the Angel Reese 1 now live on reebok.com.au and at Foot Locker, and our WNBL partnership in place, we’re focused on building more access points: from future athlete visits, to grassroots clinics, to on-court moments where young players lace up the same silhouettes as their heroes. Angel summed it up best when she spoke about always wanting to visit Australia and playing alongside incredible Aussie talent – this is just the beginning of that connection, and Reebok plans to be on the floor for every step.
